Marinated Pork Steak makes a cheap dinner too

February 10th, 2011 at 9:04pm |

I love pork. Ham is my favorite food, but there is hardly any type of pork that I won’t eat–ok pickled pigs feet don’t count.

Pork steak has the advantage of often being very cheap, probably due to the seemingly unlimited number of hog confinement lots in Iowa. It was on sale at HyVee last week, so I got 4 steaks for $4.41.

Easy, quick marinade
Put pork steak in a gallon ziplock bag

add juice of 2 limes,
2 cloves pressed garlic
salt & pepper

let this marinate 30 minutes to 3 hours
The lime juice will turn the meat sort of a weird color, but it is tenderizing the meat!

Grill or broil to desired doneness.
